Zedekiah's Cave and the Citadel

We set off during free time to be random in the city and found Zedekiah's Cave, which is where they've excavated rock out from under the city for thousands of years. It was so cool! We had fun playing in tunnels and finding cool-looking rocks that we speculated had been chipped out by our favorite Bible people (or at least their contemporaries.) For some reason my camera was switched to manual focus, so these are a little blurry. (It's funny having a big camera...when you hand it to people to take pictures, they freak out that they have to actually look through the viewfinder and that it makes an old school noise when it takes pictures. The other day somebody asked me if I remembered when there were film cameras. I just looked at her.) Me, looking kind of ominous. Shadows will do that to you.

This was at David's Citadel. The walls are all thousands of years old, but it is full of modern art that looks so cool set against such an ancient backdrop. I guess we weren't the only ones who thought so, because there were a bunch of models in paisley skin-suits having a photo-shoot on one of the balustrades. At the moment this picture was being taken, they were trying to walk past us and had to wait for me to pose, so they were coaching me. In this one, I'm laughing because one of them told me to "make love to the camera." Which might not have been as funny if the guy wasn't wearing only spandex and body paint.
