Recent Goings-On

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while! It's mid-terms time here at the JC and we are all dying. I have pulled more all-nighters studying here than ever in my life! It's so nice that everyone is taking the same classes, though...study groups are pretty darn convenient and if we ever have a question, our teachers live one floor up. I've started noticing that our conversations are becoming more and more Jerusalem-centered...the other night at dinner, someone made a joke and the punchline involved Lachish and the Assyrians. We all thought it was hysterical, but if that had been said anywhere else, I think everyone would have just sat there. We've all got Bible-humor now :).
A few days ago, we went to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum. It was so interesting and incredibly sad. The museum itself had a really neat setup and the architecture was amazing. Our guide's parents were Holocaust survivors, so she told some really cool stories. The museum raised some really interesting questions among us, and it's been great to talk about everything in the context of things that are going on now. We also visited Mt. Herzl and had 5 hours of our Jewish narrative class. It was intense...
This is a group of us chicas outside the museum. It was sort of a blustery day, so we were all pretty bundled. Also this week, we had a talent show. It was the longest (3 hours) and funniest of my life. I didn't stop laughing pretty much the entire time, including during my performance with Dave of "Hit Me Baby One More Time." His idea.
This is the sunset at Tel Aviv. I'm the little one-legged figure in between the trees on the left. Chris is the little two-legged figure next to the sun.

Hi,
Thos is a beautiful scene. I love it and I am going to show it to my daughter and granddaughter who love scences like this one. They visited Africa a few times and will probably want to go to Tel Avi now. I have never seen Absalom's tomb before. I did not know that it existed.
I have a painting of Absalom on my web page with David going up the Mount of Olives weeping because of what Absalom has done. Your site was very informative.
