A Bookish Shrine

One of the coolest things I've done here has been visiting the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Israel Museum in West Jerusalem. When we went, we were lucky to have Scott Nibley (Suhkhan's brother) with us, who has been studying the Scrolls for a really long time and is fluent in Hebrew. He taught us a lot of really cool things about the Scrolls and their significance to LDS people. Even though they were found a hundred years after the Book of Mormon was published, they back it up completely. The Church is absolutely true!A group of us in front of the Shrine. The Dea Sea Scrolls are inside, underground. The complex is set up like Solomon's temple, with a courtyard, "holy place"(which was lined with information about the Essenes, who were the ones who kept the scrolls) and the inside of this funny-looking thing (above) as the "Holy of Holies." The top dog in Hungary was there at the same time as us (president or prime minister or something), which was pretty cool.Chris and I battling with the headset things that the museum uses. After the museum, we went to West Jerusalem to pick up some snacks for Jordan and got one of these chocolate things. I don't know what they are or what is in them, but they are HEAVENLY! They're not that big, but they're so rich that it takes about 5 people to finish one. Chris and I did our best at this one, but ended up surrendering it to the group.
