We spent the morning at Bethlehem University, touring and talking to students about the conflict. It was really interesting hearing their perspective on things.
During the afternoon, we checked out the traditional site of the "stable" (it was actually a cave and now there's a giant church built on top of it, like every other holy site in the holy land), shopped at the square, went to an art gallery and had an night-time devotional in Shepherd's Field. Awesome day!
This is what Bethlehem really looks like- not quite what I pictured, but kind of charming.
Dave and I in front of the church where Christ was (maybe) born.
This is the traditional site of the birth.
Sarah, me, Chris, Lauran and Catherine on the square.
The Mary from one of the nativities.
A cute little kid :).
In the art museum, there were nativities collected from all over the world- it was amazing! This one was one of my favorites.
In Shepherd's field. You can't see it very well, but it was so cool having a devotional there! I was part of the heavenly host that got to serenade the class with Christmas songs :).
