Paris, Part Un

The only sad part of traveling on to Paris was that it meant the end of our fake German accents—a real tragedy, I assure you. We left beautiful Grindelwald the morning of July 7th, making our way to Interlaken by car, then to Basel by train, and finally to Paris via another train. And, oh my, how I love Paris!

First off, our apartment was insane. Phil rented it from some fashion magazine man. It was huge and full of cool things this guy has collected on travels. Also, some . . . interesting . . . photography. It was gorgeous, and snuggled right in the 8th arrondissement near the Arc de Triomphe. Not sure why I didn't take more pictures of it.

Our room.

I think our scrappy backpacks really lend to the decor, no?

Our first night, we ordered a pizza (very Parisian) and walked around the Arc de Triomphe.

The next morning, we went on a fantastic walking tour of Montmartre, then had lunch in the Tuileries and went to the Orangerie Museum to take in some Monet. Later in the afternoon, we took a boat tour of the Seine, then Katie, David and I ran off to the Pompidou Center (which was one of my favorite parts). That night, we got in the habit of spending hours and hours eating very delicious dinners (another favorite part).

The nice thing for me about being in Paris is that no one else does their hair either.

 Waiting for the boat.
