We missed the cherry blossoms. But also the tourists. Driving around and parking turned out to be very doable and the weather was perfect. On Friday, we hit the Mall, checked out the Air and Space Museum (complete with a viewing of maybe the oldest IMAX movie ever), had lunch at the Museum of the American Indian, checked out a few exhibits at the National Gallery of Art, drove past all the monuments, took a few wrong roads, messed around at the Jefferson Memorial, and ended up in Chevy Chase to check out the old Barlow neighborhood and dine at La Ferme (where the food was delicious, but the wait staff were jerks; we were the youngest people there by about 50 or so years and I think they knew we wouldn't be giving a 40% tip or anything. Fancy people are the worst.)

Saturday, we slept in, got together a package for La Katie (aka, Sister Bowman) and went to the Visitor's Center to drop it off. She was not supposed to be at the Visitor's Center, but she was. So we got to see her and I won't pretend like I wasn't completely delighted about that. I miss Katie something fierce. Also, it's fun to see David giggling like a little schoolboy, which is what he was doing from the moment we realized she was there.
After that, we got to do a session at the temple, which was really wonderful. We might not be getting to do that so much anymore pretty soon.
Also, I am so grateful for David. He is fun, and the best part of my life.
